Monaca, PA — September 19, 2025 — New Horizon School is excited to announce its second annual Craft Show, taking place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, at ‘The Dome’ on the campus of the Community College of Beaver County (CCBC).

This year’s event is more than just a fundraiser benefitting New Horizon students—it is a true testament to the dedication and perseverance of the school’s faculty, staff, and community. The 2025–26 school year began under challenging circumstances, with the start delayed until Sept. 8 while the teachers, staff, and administrators moved the school to a temporary location, the former Midland Innovation & Technology Charter School. The New Horizon family has continued to move forward, ensuring students remain at the center of everything they do.

The show will feature more than 75 vendors selling a wide variety of craft and food items such as birdhouses, jewelry, candles and wax melts, watercolor art, macarons, and even homemade dog treats. A diverse lineup of food trucks will also be on site, including MK Cluckin’ Good Chicken, Papa Duke’s, WizDogs, Al’s Pizza, and The Arctic Circle. In addition, vendors are donating items for a raffle, and attendees can participate in a 50/50 drawing.

The craft show began as a fundraising idea from New Horizon teacher Erin Palmiero and New Horizon principal Jason Guzie to support enrichment opportunities for students. Money raised helps bring educational and cultural programs into the school, including visits from the Pittsburgh Zoo, the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, and Kamin Science Center. In previous years, students have also enjoyed programs on reptiles and holiday-themed experiences.

All of the money raised during the craft show goes right back to our kids!” said Palmiero, noting the importance of community support. “The students are our purpose. They are why we do what we do each and every day!”

This year’s event is made possible thanks in large part to the generosity of the Care family. Judy Care, mother of New Horizon School alumnus Jordan Care, helped secure the CCBC Dome through her son Tyler, who works at CCBC. The Care family has long

supported New Horizon School. Jordan, who crafts wooden holiday items, sells them each year at the school’s Santa Shop and was a vendor at last year’s craft show. The Care family’s involvement has been essential to ensuring the continuation of this community tradition.
